Neat Valentine

February 13th, 2012

In celebration of Valentine’s day, I made an unconventional and kitchy card design. Cheesy, yes – but fitting for my scotch-loving boyfriend.

Premium Gourmet Final Design

November 2nd, 2011

Final product of the Norwegian company, Premium Gourmet food and beverage company’s brand.

A custom font-designed wordmark, featured in gold/yellow and black accompanied by a secondary logo mark. The brand mark represents a fork (food) and high or superior quality (crown). Communicating what the brand is about and also emphasizing the high quality of product was important to the client.

Card for a Cabinetmaker

March 23rd, 2011

Design for my own dad; He is a full time cabinet maker but on the side, often in the summer he custom designs and sells a his own unique style of Adirondack chairs for people. He builds his designs off a vintage Adirondack chair pattern of my grandpas. I wanted to create a vintage look with the use of color and slab serif but simple and to the point, being that they are for a specific market. The cards are mounted on a sandy wood textured paper, stay tuned for a photo within the next week.

Options Insurance Branding

February 4th, 2011

Beginning stages of Options Insurance branding.

Product/Service:

Home, auto, life, health, small business insurance from over 100
national insurance companies

Tone : progressive professional, national player, a confidante on your side, personal touch, gender neutral

Considerations : a quirky personal preference for shades of orange (haircolor, home décor), letterhead may not be professionally printed, but would be delivered electronically to clients, or printed on an in-office color printer, business cards will carry some information mandated by the dept of commerce, full content input to follow, brand will also live on digital platforms such as web/mobile

Below is the second phase of Version 1: The client has narrowed designs down to three versions of a concept. The concept was chosen because it showed a bit more personality than other concepts. This concept also expresses a story behind the brand; the shield represents protection, guarding, confidant.

The shield is wrapped by an arrow band with the brand name “Options Insurance” and implies different directions that can be taken or options that are at hand within the company.

In the next revision stage I plan to add more detail to the shield, give more depth and possibly different shape variations or add some texture. The client liked that the name OPTIONS was on the shield because it did add more depth or made for a more interesting shield.

They were also drawn to the designs that had the arrow band going down and sideways, two completely different directions, not just opposite. I would like to keep this to a limited color palette but I will consider introducing another color as a secondary that could be used on web and mobile applications.

Phase 2 is below along with a working standards guide.

Slight Revision: Version 2.5
